Better Evidence, Better Government
In conversation with
Professor Brooke Rogers and Bobby Duffy
Join us on 23 February 2023 for the next in our series of Better Evidence, Better Government events, hosted by the Evidence Quarter (EQ) and the Policy Institute at King’s College London.
This session offers an exciting opportunity to hear Professor Brooke Rogers in conversation with Professor Bobby Duffy as they reflect on her experience chairing the Cabinet Office Behavioural Science Expert Group, the Home Office Science Advisory Council, and her role as part of the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) advising the government during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Professor Brooke Rogers OBE is a Professor of Behavioural Science and Security in the Department of War Studies at King’s College. She is a social psychologist with an exceptional track record of designing and delivering over £25 million of collaborative research projects. Her work focuses on perceptions of and responses to risk and threat, and risk communication.
Bobby Duffy is Professor of Public Policy and Director of the Policy Institute. He has worked across most public policy areas in his career of 30 years in policy research and evaluation, including being seconded to the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit. His latest book, Generations – Does when you’re born shape who you are?, came out in September 2021 and challenges myths and stereotypes around generational trends.
The conversation will start at 6pm in person in the Katherine Johnson Event Space at the EQ, or online via Zoom, with an opportunity for the audience to ask questions after the discussion. Wine and soft drinks will be available afterwards from 7-8pm.
